If you are experiencing hair loss, a natural solution is possible at affordable prices. Hair transplantation is simply the process of transferring the hair follicles taken from the more hairy areas to the areas where hair loss is experienced. Compared to other treatments to prevent hair loss, hair transplantation is a permanent solution for people who have experienced heavy shedding.

A hair transplant operation is a microsurgical operation performed under local anesthesia (or anaesthetic). To avoid any risks, we direct you only to treatment centres with a hospital environment, and the operations are monitored by an anesthesiologist.

Post-Operation Issues and Recovery

Even though the recovery process is quite fast after a hair transplant, the patient may feel some pain for up to one week after the procedure. Any heavy exercise or physical activity should be avoided for at least one week following the hair transplant. Also, mild scarring in the area where the sample tissue was removed may be observed. Positive results can be obtained within a month. More than 50 percent of hair regenerates and grows in the donor area at quarterly intervals.

Is transplantation of hair permanent? Will I lose hair after a hair transplant?

Hair transplantation is permanent if the patient has a healthy scalp and does not suffer from any medical disorders that cause hair loss . However, post-surgery care should be given/observed as required.

How does hair transplant work?

There are two main techniques used for hair transplantation: FUT and FUE.
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT):
1. A several inches long strip of scalp skin is removed from the back of the head.
2. Small sections from the strip are separated and then implanted into the sparse area.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE):
1. The hair follicles are extracted directly from the back of the head through tiny punch incisions, ranging in number from a few hundred to a few thousand.
2. These are then implanted by the surgeons into the tiny holes in the sparse areas.
A hair transplant session can take four hours or more. Your stitches will be removed about 10 days after surgery.

Does the hair transplant procedure hurt?

Hair transplant is performed under local anesthesia (or anaesthetic), which blocks any pain during the operation. Minor discomfort may be experienced during the recovery period.

What age is most suitable for a hair transplant surgery?

Technically, there is no age limit for a hair transplantation. However, we do not recommend aesthetic operations at very young ages. The condition of the patient should be evaluated by the doctor.

How dangerous is a hair transplant procedure?

The hair transplant procedure is safe when performed by a qualified and experienced surgeon. However, as with any surgery, infections may occur as well as scarring, bleeding, pain and allergic reactions.

How long does a hair transplant procedure take?

The procedure will take approximately 6-10 hours on average.

How long does it take to recover from a hair transplant?

It will takes 3 – 4 days. You can go back to work from the 4th day, wearing a surgical protective cap on your head. Be careful in the sun.

What should I know before considering a hair transplant?

Availability of donor hair, donor skin flexibility, donor scar tendency, number of hair transplant session required, before & after hair care.

What are the side effects of hair transplant surgery?

Every surgical procedure can have complications. However, if your surgery is performed by an expert surgeon, there are minimal to no chances of any serious complications. Some side effects of hair transplant which one can experience are:

Swelling on the forehead (An experienced doctor will advise wearing a bandage to avoid excessive swelling and will advise you to sleep in a slightly elevated position).
Headache (You may ask the doctor for painkillers)
Redness, but it will fade within a few days
Numbness
Bleeding (No need to worry. It appears in tiny dots and will stop after a while)
Itching due to scab formation. Do not pick at these scabs and let them fall off naturally.
These are the most common side effects of a hair transplant if you have undergone a surgical procedure performed by a highly experienced surgeon. Nobody will notice that you had a hair transplant after full hair regrowth. So, if you are planning for a hair transplant surgery, only decide after doing thorough research and ask the doctor for proper post op care instructions to avoid any serious complications.

Can a person have multiple hair transplants?

One of the most frequently asked questions is whether a person can have multiple hair transplants or not. Patients are curious to know if a single procedure is enough or if they can undergo multiple sessions. Most people will find one treatment to be enough, but some might benefit from a second procedure. A person can have multiple hair transplantations , provided the patient has sufficient donor areas. Also, the doctor performing the surgery should be experienced enough in doing multiple hair transplants from the same donor area.

What should you do after hair transplant surgery?

Your scalp may be sore and you may need to take medications following hair transplant surgery, such as:
pain medication
antibiotics to reduce any risk of infection
anti-inflammatory medication to keep swelling down

Most people can return to work several days after surgery.
It’s normal for the transplanted hair to fall out two to three weeks after the procedure. This makes way for new hair growth. Most people will see some amount of new hair growth 8 to 12 months after surgery.
Many doctors prescribe Minoxidil (Rogaine) or the hair growth medication Finasteride (Propecia) to improve hair regrowth. These medications also help to slow or stop future hair loss.

Can I wear a cap or hat after a hair transplant?

Yes, you can wear a surgical cap, slightly loose, from the 1st day. But wearing any other type of cap is not advisable until 7 days post-surgery. This is because following the hair transplant, the scalp may be swollen, and you may experience some bleeding and scabbing for the first few days. During this period, you might feel more comfortable covering your scalp to hide the hair transplant. However, surgeons recommend waiting 7 to 10 days before wearing anything over the scalp until the grafts are permanently anchored. Wearing a hat could risk the grafts getting compressed, damaged or displaced. Damaging the grafts could create empty patches on the scalp and jeopardise the entire hair transplant recovery process. After 7 to 10 days, once the grafts are permanently anchored, wearing a hat is considered safe.
